These Terms & Conditions apply to all reservations, stays, purchases, events, and use of services at Casa Cedo, an eight room boutique guesthouse with associated retail, food, beverage, garden, and event spaces in Porto, Portugal.
By making a reservation, entering the premises, purchasing goods or services, or using any Casa Cedo facility, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Definitions
Casa Cedo refers to Casa Cedo Lda. NIF 515689599 and all its physical spaces, including the guesthouse, flower shop, retail areas, dining spaces, terraces, gardens, and event areas.
Guest refers to any person staying overnight at Casa Cedo.
Client refers to any person purchasing goods or services from Casa Cedo, including non resident visitors.
Booking refers to any confirmed reservation for accommodation, events, private dining, or other services.
2. Reservations & Booking Conditions
2.1 All accommodation bookings are subject to availability and written confirmation by Casa Cedo.
2.2 Reservations may be made directly through Casa Cedo, through the Casa Cedo website, or through approved third party booking platforms.
2.3 Guests must be at least 18 years of age to make a reservation and to stay at Casa Cedo.
2.4 Casa Cedo reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking where inaccurate, misleading, incomplete, or fraudulent information has been provided.
2.5 The person making the reservation is responsible for ensuring that all guests included in the booking are aware of and comply with these Terms & Conditions.
3. Rates, Payments & Taxes
3.1 All rates are quoted in Euros and include applicable VAT, unless otherwise stated.
3.2 The Porto municipal tourist tax will be charged where legally applicable.
3.3 A full or partial prepayment may be required to confirm a reservation.
3.4 Casa Cedo accepts cash and major credit and debit cards. Accepted payment methods may vary depending on the service or point of sale.
3.5 Any additional charges incurred during the stay, including food, beverages, retail items, services, damages, or additional cleaning costs, must be settled before departure.
3.6 Casa Cedo reserves the right to correct obvious pricing errors before confirming a reservation.
4. Deposit, Cancellation & Modification Policy
4.1 A deposit of 100% of the total reservation amount is required at the time of booking to confirm all accommodation reservations, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4.2 For individual bookings, the deposit will be refunded in full if the reservation is cancelled at least 72 hours before 00:00 on the scheduled arrival date, Porto local time.
4.3 For group bookings, whole house bookings, or multiple room reservations, the deposit will be refunded in full if the reservation is cancelled at least five calendar days before 00:00 on the scheduled arrival date, Porto local time.
4.4 Cancellations made after the applicable deadline, as well as no shows, will result in forfeiture of the full deposit.
4.5 Reservation modifications are subject to availability and must be requested within the applicable cancellation period.
4.6 Changes requested after the applicable cancellation deadline may not be possible and may result in loss of the deposit.
4.7 Different cancellation or payment terms may apply to special offers, private events, whole house bookings, third party platform bookings, or bespoke packages. Where applicable, these terms will be confirmed at the time of booking.
5. Check In & Check Out
5.1 Check in is available from 15:00, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5.2 Check out is by 12:00.
5.3 Early check in and late check out may be available upon request, subject to availability, and may incur additional charges.
5.4 Guests may be asked to provide identification at check in, as required by Portuguese law.
6. Adults Only Policy
6.1 Casa Cedo is an adults only house.
6.2 For the comfort, safety, and experience of all guests, children are not permitted on the premises, including guest rooms, common areas, terraces, gardens, dining spaces, and event spaces.
6.3 All guests and visitors must be 18 years of age or older.
7. House Rules & Guest Conduct
7.1 Casa Cedo is a private house and guests are expected to behave respectfully towards staff, other guests, neighbours, and the property.
7.2 Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited inside all indoor areas. Designated outdoor areas may be indicated by Casa Cedo.
7.3 Excessive noise, disruptive behaviour, harassment, unsafe conduct, or illegal activity will not be tolerated.
7.4 Casa Cedo reserves the right to end a stay immediately and without refund if a guest’s behaviour is unsafe, unlawful, disruptive, or incompatible with the ethos of the house.
7.5 Pets are not permitted in the Casa Cedo rooms, however pets may be allowed to visit the public spaces with prior consent by the management.
7.6 Guests must not host unregistered visitors in rooms or private areas without prior approval from Casa Cedo.
8. Damage, Loss & Liability
8.1 Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the property, furnishings, artworks, objects, equipment, plants, or other items belonging to Casa Cedo.
8.2 Casa Cedo reserves the right to charge guests for repair, replacement, specialist restoration, or additional cleaning costs resulting from damage, misuse, negligence, or breach of these Terms & Conditions.
8.3 Casa Cedo is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings unless caused by proven negligence.
8.4 Use of the property, gardens, terraces, stairs, common areas, and facilities is at the guest’s own risk.
8.5 Guests are responsible for ensuring that doors and windows are properly closed and that personal belongings are kept secure.
9. Events, Dining & Private Use
9.1 Private dinners, events, workshops, brand activations, and exclusive use of Casa Cedo spaces are subject to separate agreement and may be subject to minimum spend requirements.
9.2 Menus, guest numbers, timings, suppliers, room layouts, and event details must be confirmed in advance.
9.3 Casa Cedo reserves the right to approve or refuse external suppliers, decorations, music, equipment, or event arrangements.
9.4 Event cancellation and payment terms may differ from accommodation bookings and will be confirmed in the relevant event proposal or agreement.
9.5 Guests and clients are responsible for the conduct of all attendees at private events.
10. Retail, Flowers & Objects
10.1 All retail sales, including flowers, plants, ceramics, homewares, perfumes, artworks, and other objects, are subject to availability.
10.2 Due to the nature of handmade, vintage, bespoke, fragile, or perishable items, returns or exchanges may be limited or excluded, except where required by Portuguese consumer law.
10.3 Variations in colour, size, texture, glaze, scent, finish, or form are inherent to artisanal, natural, vintage, or handmade products and do not constitute defects.
10.4 Flowers and plants are natural and perishable products. Their appearance, availability, and lifespan may vary depending on season, care, and environmental conditions.
11. Third Party Services & Concierge Arrangements
11.1 Casa Cedo may assist guests with restaurant reservations, transfers, parking, boat trips, workshops, private tours, spa bookings, and other third party experiences.
11.2 Unless expressly stated otherwise, these services are provided by independent third party suppliers and are subject to their own terms, conditions, cancellation policies, availability, and pricing.
11.3 Casa Cedo is not responsible for the acts, omissions, delays, cancellations, or service standards of independent third party suppliers, except where required by law.
12. Privacy & Data Protection
12.1 Casa Cedo processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and applicable Portuguese law.
12.2 Personal data may be used for reservation management, guest communication, legal compliance, payment processing, service delivery, security, and operational purposes.
12.3 Guests may request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data in accordance with applicable law.

13. Complaints & Consumer Rights
13.1 Casa Cedo aims to resolve any concern with care, fairness, and discretion.
13.2 Guests and clients are encouraged to contact Casa Cedo directly in the first instance so that any issue may be addressed promptly.
13.3 Casa Cedo makes available the official complaints book in accordance with Portuguese law, including access to the electronic complaints book.
13.4 Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any mandatory consumer rights under Portuguese law.
14. Force Majeure
14.1 Casa Cedo shall not be liable for failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond its reasonable control.
14.2 Such events may include, but are not limited to, natural disasters, strikes, public health restrictions, government action, utility failures, severe weather, civil unrest, transport disruption, or other circumstances outside Casa Cedo’s reasonable control.
15. Right to Refuse Service
15.1 Casa Cedo reserves the right to refuse service, entry, accommodation, or continued stay to any person whose conduct is unsafe, unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, disruptive, or incompatible with the ethos of the house.
15.2 Where a stay is terminated due to breach of these Terms & Conditions, no refund will be due.
16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
16.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Portugal.
16.2 Any disputes shall be subject to the competent Portuguese courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights or alternative dispute resolution mechanisms available under applicable law.
17. Amendments
17.1 Casa Cedo reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
17.2 The version in force at the time of booking shall apply to that booking, unless otherwise required by law.
